Got some house plants

Just went with a friend shopping for house plants. Now my living room will have a little life.

My philosophy of a living room is that it should be a comfortable place to meet with friends and hang out: there should be no TV in a living room. I see the presence of a TV in living rooms as a silent acquiescence to the primacy of television in American culture, an acceptance of being a serf to promoters and cultural shapers. A way of avoiding interaction with your family and friends. I do have a media room in my basement with a TV, but no cable or antenna hook-up. I watch what I or my friends want to watch. I won't have my life pissed away on commercials.

Now if I can just come up with more ideas for decor and furnature. Well, plants are a good start.

It's the beginning of my third year in this house.
